    Kōjin/Samebito

    The Kōjin is a creature from Japanese myth referred to as a yokai. The live in the ocean, especially around the South China Sea. They are thought to resemble mermaid-like creatures with inky black shark skin and ugly human-like faces with emerald green eyes. They are known for weaving and can frequently be found using looms with special silk that doesn’t get wet. They are carnivorous creatures, but they aren’t known to be particularly hostile towards humans. When Kōjin cry, their tears are pearls and jewels. Citations: Meyer, Matthew.     Y-Pora are from the Guarani people of Argentina. They attack fishermen and anyone else who travel the waters of the area.     Ceasg

    The Ceasg is a form of mermaid-like creature from Scottish myth. They’re known to live in lakes and on the coast. They have the upper body of beautiful women with the lower body of salmon, though they turn fully into human women if they fall in love with a human. Any children they have will have a strong connection to the sea. If unloved, they express their anger by leading fishermen to drown.     Adaro

    The Adaro are fish-man creatures from the Solomon Islands. They have legs and feet with tail fins extending from them, huge fins on their heads like shark fins, a horn extending from where the nose would be like a narwhal, and gills placed behind human-like ears. They’re believed to utilize armies of poisonous flying fish as weapons. They use these poisonous fish to attack any humans entering their territory, either killing or knocking the target unconscious.
