Flatwoods Monster/Braxton County Monster/Phantom of Flatwoods/Frankensteins Monster with B.O.

The Flatwoods Monster is a mysterious creature from West Virginia. It has been described as an alien, a robot, a cryptid, and a phantom. On September 12th, 1952, in the town of Flatwoods in Braxton County. It was sighted by 5 boys ages 10-15 at night near an elementary school. They saw a fiery UFO streaking across the sky and landed on a hill at a nearby farm. The boys went to the spot after picking up the mother of two of the boys, a 17-year-old National Guardsman, and a dog. When they arrived, they saw the ship with a strange mist surrounding it, filled with red strobing lights. The dog barked, panicked, and ran away before the creature even appeared. A boy pointed his flashlight and saw a strange creature standing next to a tree. It stood 10 feet tall and had a round head with a torso like a cylinder. It had green clothes resembling an apron ending in a pleated skirt. Everything had a metallic sheen, leading the witnesses to conclude it was a robot. Its arms were thin like antennae ending in long, thin claws. Its face was red, it had round, glowing eyes, and was covered by a spade-shaped hood. It smelled awful and metallic. The whole time it hovered above the ground and then hissed as it floated towards the group. They ran back home and suffered sickness and nausea for days. The dog was later found back in town, where it had vomited, and it died days later. Investigators found some evidence in the form of shid marks, pushed down grass, and an oil-like substance. The witness compared it to Frankenstein’s monster, and it was later called “Frankenstein’s Monster with B.O.” by the Statesville Daily Record Newspaper.
