Honey Island Swamp Monster/Wookiee
The Honey Island Swamp Monster is a hairy hominid from Louisiana. Some locals jokingly call this creature a “Wookiee.” This creature is similar to the Skunk Ape and Fouke Monster. It’s said to live in the desolate swamps surrounding the remote Honey Island in Louisiana. It stands over seven feet tall, and it is believed to weigh between four to five hundred pounds. It’s thought to have grey or brown, matted hair and amber-colored eyes. It was first documented in 1974 by two hunters. They found strange footprints near the remains of a slaughtered boar, and the next day they saw the creature in person, which they said smelled like decay and death. One hunter was named Harlan E. Ford, and he continued searching until his death in 1980. He is responsible for many plaster footprint casts. These casts have three large toes and one smaller one. One sighting suggests it may move as a quadruped. In this sighting, it was described as similar to a man, but still an animal. It had one inch of long fur, no ears, a flat, hairless face, eyes similar to a person’s, and a flat back. Unlike other sightings, this creature had no distinct odor and was not aggressive, seemingly only wanting to communicate. This connected this cryptid with a different form of quadrupedal hominid sightings classified as Napes.
